In more exciting news, we are providing a free upland game bird seminar to our members this September in Colusa, CA! Darin Gardner Bird Taxidermy will be demonstrating skinning, fleshing, and mounting techniques for both a chukar and a pheasant.

Darin Gardner will be our 2026 CAT Show bird judge, and has been judging since 2014. He has won several breakthrough awards, one with a pheasant and another with a tundra swan. Darin is also a North American Champion in Turkeys, and was the president of the Utah Taxidermy Association for 6 years. Mr. Gardner has been involved in taxidermy since he was 13 years old, and while he has mounted just about every bird you can think of, his passion and specialty is upland game birds.
